I like the smell of sawdust in the morning
I’m a tinkerer and a problem solver and I live to work with my hands. Wood used to really frustrate me. It seemed too delicate and stubborn, so I avoided it as much as possible.
Back in 2017, projects around the house were accumulating that would require some basic level of skill, so I decided to give woodworking another shot. In the spirit of the “10,000 hour rule”, I set out to become a master. Fast forward several years and I find myself spending most of my free time creating unique pieces out of wood.
The name Boneshaker is a nod to my other passion and career in the bicycle world. In the late 19th century, bicycles were called boneshakers because their iron frames and wooden wheels made for a very harsh ride that would quite literally rattle your bones.
Check out my workshop below!
It’s approximately 100 sq ft…just big enough to party! I’m continually reorganizing and restructuring to maximize the space.
TABLE SAW/WORKBENCH
This is the heart of my operation - I use the table saw more than any other tool in the shop. The outfeed table doubles as my main workbench space and drawers underneath provide storage for the tools and supplies I use most.
ROUTER TABLE AND HAND TOOLS
I custom made all of the tool storage to fit the limited wall space I had. With the plywood backer, it will be easy to reorganize as my needs change.
I much prefer using the router table over a palm router, so I modified this other small work bench to become my new router table. Most of the time it’s covered in scrap wood and tools that aren’t being used, but it looks nice in this picture, right?
inventables x-carve cnc
Not the most used tool, but maybe the most fun.
This machine gives me the ability to customize projects, cut inlays, joinery, and all sorts of other things with a level of precision that can’t be done by hand - at least not by me.
